Funeral Director

Department: San Jacinto Funeral Home Admin
Location: Houston, TX

NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking an experienced and compassionate Funeral Director to join our team at San Jacinto Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. This is an opportunity for a professional who takes pride in serving families, takes initiative without being asked, follows through on commitments, and can confidently manage the many details involved in funeral service.


What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a trusted source of support, guidance, and direction for families before, during, and after the loss of a loved one.
  • Take ownership of arrangements and coordinate the details necessary to provide a meaningful, seamless experience for each family.
  • Coordinate, assist with, and carry out all aspects of funeral services, visitations, ceremonies, burials, cremations, and final memorialization.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with families, clergy, cemeteries, crematories, vendors, and other service partners.
  • Anticipate needs, identify potential issues, and take initiative to resolve them before they affect the family or service.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure arrangements are completed thoroughly and on schedule.
  • Work collaboratively with the funeral home team while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Adhere to all applicable professional, municipal, state, and federal laws, regulations, licensing requirements, and funeral service standards.
  • Maintain the highest standards of care, professionalism, confidentiality, and respect for the deceased and their families.


What We’re Looking For

  • The ideal candidate is more than someone who holds a funeral director license. We are looking for a dependable professional who can be trusted to follow through, take ownership, and step up when needed.
  • Licensed Funeral Director in Texas or eligible for Texas reciprocity.
  • Previous funeral service experience strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team while confidently handling responsibilities independently.
