Superintendent

Department: Ft Myers Memorial Gardens Maint
Location: Fort Myers, FL

NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead operations at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens in FT. Myers, FL. This role is ideal for a seasoned cemetery professional who takes pride in maintaining sacred grounds, leading dedicated teams, and ensuring every family receives respectful, dignified service.

As Superintendent, you will oversee all grounds and facilities operations while guiding a team of 8–10 cemetery caretakers. You’ll play a key leadership role in maintaining the beauty, safety, and integrity of the property, ensuring every interment and memorialization is handled with precision and reverence.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM Additional: Occasional Saturdays or holidays based on business needs

Responsibilities

  • Maintain memorials, crypts, and overall cemetery grounds
  • Verify accurate locations for all interments, entombments, and inurnments
  • Lead, train, and support a team of cemetery caretakers
  • Keep all facilities clean, safe, and presentable
  • Manage inventory of equipment, supplies, and merchandise
  • Remove debris, trash, and anything that detracts from the grounds
  • Assist with any groundskeeping or maintenance tasks as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a cemetery environment
  • Experience as a Foreman or Superintendent, OR
    • 5–10 years of grounds experience with a desire to grow into leadership
  • Ability to operate large mechanical equipment
  • Ability to move and install burial vaults
  • Strong understanding of cemetery maps, layouts, and grave locations
  • Proven ability to lead teams with professionalism and respect
  • Demonstrated compassion and reverence toward client families
