NorthStar is hiring a dynamic Community Service Advisor (Sales) at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, CA. Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in your community? As a Community Service Advisor, you’ll help families plan for the future with empathy and expertise. You’ll generate pre-need sales for cemetery property, merchandise, services, and prearranged funeral and cremation plans within your assigned area.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
Foster relationships with local groups (churches, civic organizations, veteran associations, hospices, senior living communities) to educate and support families in their preplanning decisions.
Schedule and conduct engaging pre-planning seminars.
Sales & Customer Outreach
Set appointments, deliver impactful presentations, and offer professional park tours.
Connect with new and existing customers to explain tailored services and products.
Prospecting & Sales Strategies
Prospect daily by leveraging multiple channels, such as cold calling, door-to-door outreach, mailers, seminars, community events, web leads, and record reviews.
Schedule 10–12 pre-need appointments each week and track all activities in the CRM.
Customer Service & Inquiry Response
Provide exceptional service with a positive, proactive attitude—going above and beyond for every family.
Respond to inquiries about services and pre-need planning with expertise and care.
Administrative & Performance Tracking
Accurately and promptly complete all paperwork and contract processing.
Monitor and analyze sales activity and ratios for continuous improvement.
Maintain detailed contact records and follow-ups in CRM.
Professional Development
Stay updated on relevant topics (veterans’ benefits, social security, end-of-life decisions, industry standards).
Attend training sessions led by sales and regional leadership.
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
Reliable transportation
Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to the cemetery and funeral industry
