Independent Sales Contractor

Department: Smart Tallahassee Sales
Location: Jacksonville, FL

Responsibilities

  • Generate leads through self-initiated outreach and networking.
  • Organize and conduct self-generated seminars to promote our services.
  • Community Engagement: Build relationships in the community to educate and guide families in their pre-planning decisions.
  • Appointment Setting: Excel in setting appointments and delivering compelling pre-planning presentations.
  • Contract Management: Utilize our proprietary software, Navigator, to complete contracts timely, neatly, and accurately.
  • Sales Tracking: Actively track all sales activity and ratios through our CRM to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Professional Follow-Up: Use Shape to track all contacts and ensure professional follow-up.
  • Prospecting: Regularly prospect using multiple methods including cold calling, door knocking, mailers, seminars, and outside events.
  • Customer Service: Provide world-class customer service with a positive attitude and a willingness to do “Whatever it takes.”
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay current on topics related to our profession (veteran’s benefits, social security benefits, end-of-life decisions, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of direct or in-home sales experience.
  • 2+ years of public speaking and presentation experience.

  • Discipline, high energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and strong people skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Strong ability to earn trust and use consultative selling techniques.
  • Effective presentation skills to groups of people.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships within the community.
  • Basic math skills for calculations.
  • Experience handling difficult situations with confidence and compassion.
  • Reliable transportation, a valid state driver’s license, and a satisfactory driving record.
